BeastStone RPG

Original Soundtrack (OST)

Project Summary

BeastStone RPG: Secrets of Coco Isle was an unreleased indie RPG developed by James McLeod, also known as Jimzip. In 2015, I was hired to compose the game’s original soundtrack, creating a collection of custom chiptune tracks designed to support the game’s characters, environments, and story world.

Across the project, I wrote more than a dozen instrumental themes, including music for villages, temples, forests, pirates, professors, shamans, title cards, and character-specific moments. The soundtrack leaned into classic RPG energy while giving each area and character its own musical identity; playful, mysterious, adventurous, and occasionally ominous.

Although the game was ultimately cancelled in 2016, the music remains one of my favorite early game composition projects. The tracks were written to feel closely connected to the visual style and imagined world of BeastStone RPG, and they still represent the kind of melodic, character-driven scoring I enjoy most: music that helps a game world feel alive, memorable, and emotionally specific.
