Description

It’s Christmas time, again! This time of year, I’m always nostalgic for the games I received for Christmas as a kid – Super Mario Brothers, Megaman, Zelda and other classics. What better way to marry these games and Christmas music than to arrange a chiptune Christmas album? So, here it is!

“A Magical 8-Bit Christmas” is a collection of classic Christmas songs arranged in a chiptune/8-bit style, using YMCK’s Magical 8bit Plug. Thanks YMCK!

I hope this album brings back fond memories of Christmases gone by and helps to create new ones as well! Merry Christmas!

Sunny Side Up

“Sunny Side Up” is a fun-lovin’, jazzy tune created with YMCK’s Magical 8-Bit Synthesizer. The tune is super catchy and bears resemblance to soundtracks from the classic Super Mario Brothers games, featured on the original Nintendo Entertainment System. This soundtrack would make a great addition to a retro game with a friendly style.

Lunar Disco (Loop)

“Lunar Disco” is a groovy chiptune written in the style of soundtracks from the original Nintendo Entertainment System. The music was composed using solely YMCK’s Magical 8-Bit Synthesizer and features drums, pads, funky bass lines, and a catchy melody.

Chaotic Calamity

“Chaotic Calamity” is a heart pounding, action packed, loopable orchestral soundtrack featuring a blend of styles. The theme is reminiscent of the battle music from the Final Fantasy game series, but includes a sprinkling influence of Danny Elmann’s Beetlejuice soundtrack. The tone is dark, even morose, but is fun and adventurous as well.

This soundtrack may have many uses. It would work well as battle music in a fantasy themed video game. It could also work well in films and advertisements of a similar style.

University

“University” is a loopable video game soundtrack, written in the style of original music from the Nintendo Entertainment System. The song features multiple voices, classical-style contrapuntal melodies, and some light percussion.

Croissant

“Croissant” is a fun, chiptune/8-bit soundtrack intended for use with retro-style video games. This song was featured in the Flappy bird clone, “Crown Bird” and is now available to be licensed for your project!

Airwalk

“Airwalk” is a groovin’, loopable soundtrack, driven by electronic leads, pads, and a rock solid beat.

The catchy motifs are bound to get stuck in a player’s head, and the call and answer methods keep the tune from becoming too repetitive.

It’s sure to add to the enjoyment of your groundbreaking action/arcade game!
